Congratulations to Tony Pennacchia competing at the second round of the 2008 VSCRC Championship held at Phillip Island on the on May 17-18th. It was Tony’s first time at the track in the new RX-7 and the Promaz 13B bridge-port engine didn’t let him down. “What a great result for our Promaz race car finishing overall second in our class. We have an engine that just wanted to keep on accelerating down the straight,” said Tony.
A very cold and wet track saw Tony leave the black-stuff in the opening race. “We didn't get off to a good start with only 2 laps completed l slipped on oil on a very wet track and went into wall. Lucky we only had panel damage so after three hours hard work by the boys ( Chris, Andrew and Jamie ) did a fantastic job of putting the car back together”.
Grim conditions once again greeted competitors on Sunday morning but the skies soon cleared up for a dry start. “After a 7 lap race we ended up finishing 5th. What a great result. In race 2 we had another good battle and ended up 5th again, but won our class. After a bad start on Saturday we turned it around for Sunday,” Tony added
The Promaz 13B BP MicroTech injected engine puts out 235hp to the rear wheels.
